Laboratory Services in the HSE National Drug Treatment Centre

The NDTC provides laboratory testing service for a wide range of licit and illicit drugs.

Providing the largest service of this kind in the state, the laboratory’s customers include HSE Addiction Services, General Practitioners, Voluntary Organisations, the Dublin Drug Court and various government departments.

The Laboratory also provides a legally defensible drug testing service for several Professional Bodies.

Techniques used by the laboratory include Immunoassay, ELISA and LC-MS.

The HSE National Drug Treatment Centre Laboratory is accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) to undertake testing as detailed in the Schedule bearing the Registration number 169T which is available at: http://www.inab.ie/Directory-of-Accredited-Bodies/Laboratory-Accreditation/Testing/HSE-National-Drug-Treatment-Centre.html

Testing in the scope of accreditation is carried out in conformity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, 3rd Edition ‘General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories’.
